7.3. RMC150
7.3.1. RMC150 Overview
The RMC150 motion controller offers a valuable combination of performance and ease-of-use
for 2 to 8-axis systems. Smooth, precise motion boosts throughput, improves quality, and
extends machine life. A number of feedback options are available, allowing one controller
family to be used in a wide variety of hydraulic, electric, and pneumatic position and position–
pressure/force applications. The built-in 10/100 Ethernet port provides connectivity to many
PLCs and HMIs.
This topic describes the hardware. For a list of features, see the Controller Features topic. See
the RMC150 Part Numbering topic for ordering details.
Modular Design
The RMC150 is a modular controller. The RMC150E CPU fits in slot 1 (slots numbered 0-5)
of the RMC100 backplane and supports most of the modules supported by the RMC100,
as listed below.
Backplanes
Backplane widths are available with 3, 4, 5, or 6 slots. Slots are numbered starting with 0
at the left. The example below shows a 6-slot backplane.
