To perform packet flow sampling, you must configure an sFlow sampler instance with
a sampling Rate. To perform counter sampling, you must configure an sFlow poller
instance with a polling interval. The sFlow agent sends the collected information in the
form of sFlow datagrams to sFlow collectors to the sFlow receiver.
Configure the source interface for the sFlow
agent
The switch can function as an sFlow agent and forward polled and sampled traffic to an
sFlow receiver. You can configure the source interface that connects to the device that
functions as the sFlow receiver.
To configure the source interface for the sFlow agent:
1. Launch a web browser.
2. In the address field of your web browser, enter the IP address of the switch.
If you do not know the IP address of the switch, see Log in to the main UI with a web
browser on page 27 and the subsections.
The login page displays.
3. Click the Main UI Login button.
The main UI login page displays in a new tab.
4. Enter admin as the user name, enter your local device password, and click the Login
button.
The first time that you log in, no password is required. However, you then must
specify a local device password to use each subsequent time that you log in.
The System Information page displays.
5. Select Monitoring> sFlow > Basic > sFlow Agent Information.
The sFlow Agent Information page displays.
6. From the Source Interface menu, select the management interface that the sFlow
agent must use. By default, the following options display in the menu:
•
None: The primary IP address of the originating (outbound) interface is used as
the source address.
•
VLAN 1: The primary IP address of VLAN 1 is used as the source address. This is
the default selection.
•
Service Port: The management port IP address is used as the source address.
Depending on the configuration of your switch, the following options can display:
