Manage the SNMPv1 and SNMPv2 trap
settings

For each SNMP community, you can specify the source interface that must be used on
the switch, the community name, the associated IP address, and other settings.

Add an SNMPv1 or SNMPv2 trap configuration for a
host

You can add a trap configuration for a host, enabling the host to receive SNMPv1 or
SNMPv2 traps.

To add an SNMPv1 or SNMPv2 trap configuration for a host:

1. Launch a web browser.

2. In the address field of your web browser, enter the IP address of the switch.

If you do not know the IP address of the switch, see Log in to the main UI with a web
browser
on page 27 and the subsections.

The login page displays.

3. Click the Main UI Login button.

The main UI login page displays in a new tab.

4. Enter admin as the user name, enter your local device password, and click the Login

button.

The first time that you log in, no password is required. However, you then must
specify a local device password to use each subsequent time that you log in.

The System Information page displays.

5. Select System > SNMP > SNMP V1/V2 > Trap Configuration.

The Trap Configuration page displays.

6. From the Source Interface menu, select the source interface that must be used for

the SNMP trap receiver. By default, the following options display in the menu:

None: The primary IP address of the originating (outbound) interface is used as
the source address.

VLAN 1: The primary IP address of VLAN 1 is used as the source address. This is
the default selection.

Service Port: The management port IP address is used as the source address.

Depending on the configuration of your switch, the following options can display:
