Switch system and slot information

You can configure the view and configure the switch system information.

View and configure switch system
information

When you log in, the System Information page displays. You can configure and view
general device information.

To view and define system information:

1. Launch a web browser.

2. In the address field of your web browser, enter the IP address of the switch.

If you do not know the IP address of the switch, see Log in to the main UI with a web
browser
on page 27 and the subsections.

The login page displays.

3. Click the Main UI Login button.

The main UI login page displays in a new tab.

4. Enter admin as the user name, enter your local device password, and click the Login

button.

The first time that you log in, no password is required. However, you then must
specify a local device password to use each subsequent time that you log in.

The System Information page displays.

5. Define the following fields:

System Name: Enter the name to identify this switch. You can use up to 255
alphanumeric characters. The factory default is blank.

System Location: Enter the location of this switch. You can use up to 255
alphanumeric characters. The factory default is blank.

System Contact: Enter the contact person for this switch. You can use up to 255
alphanumeric characters. The factory default is blank.

Login Timeout: Specify how many minutes of inactivity can occur on a serial port
connection before the switch closes the connection. Enter a number between 0
and 160 minutes. The factory default is 5. Entering 0 disables the time-out.

Management Source Interface: Select the management interface that is used
as the source interface for SNMP trap, syslog, DNS, TACACS+, RADIUS, sFlow,
and NTP features. By default, the following options display in the menu:
