to an SNTP server with a priority of 1, then to a server with a priority of 2, and so on.
If any servers are assigned the same priority, the SNTP client contacts the servers in
the order that they are listed in the table. The priority range is from 1 to 3. By default,
the first server that you add gets priority 1, the second server priority 2, and the third
server priority 3.

10. In the NTP Version field, specify the NTP version that is supported by the switch.

The range is from 1 to 4. The default is 4.

11. Click the Add button.

The SNTP server entry is added.

12. To add additional SNTP servers, repeat the previous steps.

You can configure up to three SNTP servers.

13. To save the settings to the running configuration, click the Save icon.

The SNTP Server Status table displays the following information.

Description

Field

The IP address of the SNTP server.

Address

The local date and time (UTC) that the response from the server was used to
update the system clock.

Last Update Time

The local date and time (UTC) that the SNTP server was last queried.

Last Attempt Time

The status of the last NTP request to the server:
Other: No packet was received from the server.

Success: The SNTP operation was successful and the system time was updated.

Request Timed Out: A directed SNTP request timed out without receiving

a response from the SNTP server.

Bad Date Encoded: The time provided by the SNTP server is not valid.

Version Not Supported: The SNTP version supported by the server is not

compatible with the version supported by the client.

Server Unsynchronized: The SNTP server is not synchronized with its peers.

This is indicated through the leap indicator field on the SNTP message.

Server Kiss Of Death: The SNTP server indicated that no further queries were

to be sent to this server. This is indicated by a stratum field equal to 0 in a
message received from a server.
