8. From the Keep Alive menu, select Enable to specify that loop protection must be
enabled on the port.
By default, loop protection is disabled for a port.
9. From the RX Action menu, select the action that the switch takes when a loop is
detected on the port:
• Log: Log the message when a loop is detected on the port.
• Disable: Disable the port when a loop is detected. This is the default setting.
• Both: Log and disable the port when a loop is detected.
10. Click the Apply button.
Your settings are saved.
11. To save the settings to the running configuration, click the Save icon.
12. To refresh the page, click the Refresh button.

Description
Field
Indicates (Yes or No) whether a loop is detected on the interface.
Loop Detected
The number of packets that were received on the interface after the loop was
detected.
Loop Count
The time since the loop was detected.
Time Since Last Loop
The status of the interface (Enabled or Disabled).
Port Status
The reason that the interface was disabled. In addition to being disabled because
of loop protection, the interface can be disabled because of Unidirectional Link
Detection (UDLD), a broadcast storm, a unicast storm, and so on.
Errdisable Reason
The time that is left before the interface is reenabled through the autorecovery
process. The time is in the range from 30 to 604800 seconds.
