To consolidate MIDI notes with the Consolidate
tool:
With the Grabber or Pencil tool, Start-Shift-
click (Windows) or Control-Shift-click (Mac) be-
tween the separated MIDI notes.
Consolidating MIDI Notes
The Consolidate command lets you combine two
or more consecutive MIDI notes of the same
pitch into a single MIDI note.
To consolidate MIDI notes:

Select the MIDI notes you want to consoli-
date.

Do one of the following:
• Choose Edit > Consolidate.
– or –
• Right-click the selected notes and choose
Consolidate
.
Muting MIDI Notes
The Mute command lets you mute individual
MIDI notes. If entire regions are selected, the
Mute
command prompts you to either mute re-
gions or MIDI notes.
To mute one or more MIDI notes:

Select the MIDI notes you want to mute.

Do one of the following:
• Choose Edit > Mute Notes.
– or –
• Right-click the selected MIDI notes and
choose Mute Notes.
To unmute one or more MIDI notes:

Select the MIDI notes you want to unmute.

Do one of the following:
• Choose Edit > Unmute Notes.
– or –
• Right-click the selected MIDI notes and
choose Unmute Notes.
Consolidating MIDI notes into one using the Consolidate
Tool
Press Alt+Shift+3 (Windows) or
Option+Shift+3 (Mac) to consolidate adja-
cent selected MIDI notes of the same pitch.
Consolidate tool
Press Control+M (Windows) or
Command+M (Mac) to mute and unmute
selected MIDI notes.
