Universe View
The Universe view displays an overview of the
entire Pro Tools session above the tracks pane in
the Edit window. This overview represents audio
and MIDI material on all tracks in the session
that are not hidden (including tracks that are in-
active, or that contain offline regions). The or-
der in which material is displayed in the Uni-
verse view corresponds to the track order in the
Edit window.
In the Universe view, audio, MIDI, and video re-
gions on tracks are represented by horizontal
lines that are the same colors as the regions on
the tracks. Each audio track is represented at the
same height regardless of how many channels it
has. Additionally, tracks that show Automation,
Controller, or Playlist lanes are represented with
increasing height for each lane shown.
Since Auxiliary Input, Master Fader, and VCA
Master tracks do not contain audio or MIDI re-
gions, they are displayed as blank areas in the
Universe view.
To show or hide the Universe view in the Edit
window, do one of the following:
Select or deselect View > Other Displays > Uni-
