Changes an interface's spanning-tree port priority.

Synopsis

spanning-tree priority priority

no spanning-tree priority

Operands

priority

Specifies the interface priority for the spanning tree. The range of valid
values is from 0 through 240. Port priority is in increments of 16.

Defaults

The default value is 128.

Command Modes

Interface subtype configuration mode

Description

Use this command to change an interface's spanning-tree port priority.

Usage Guidelines

If xSTP is enabled over VCS, this command must be executed on all the RBridges.

Enter no spanning-tree priority to return to the default setting.

Examples

To configure the port priority to 16:

switch(config)# interface tengigabitethernet 0/1

switch(conf-if-te-0/1)# spanning-tree priority 16
