Displays the description string associated with a 1-gigabit Ethernet interface.
Synopsis
show running-config interface gigabitethernet [rbridge-id/slot/port] description
Operands
rbridge-id
Specifies a switch by its RBridge ID.
slot
Specifies a valid slot number.
port
Specifies a valid port number.
Defaults
None
Command Modes
Privileged EXEC mode
Description
Use this command to display the description string associated with the specified interface.
Usage Guidelines
This command can be used only on Brocade VDX 6710, Brocade VDX 8770-4, and
Brocade VDX 8770-8 switches.
Examples
switch# show running-config interface gigabitethernet 1/0/7 description
interface Gigabit Ethernet 1/0/7
description Connects to storage device 1
