Inform—Through iNode clients, WSM sends notifications to inform the concerned users that

they have entered the areas that deny access.

{

Warn—WSM generates alarms to notify the administrators that concerned users have
entered the areas that deny access.

{

Log off—Through iNode clients, WSM logs off the concerned users and delivers prompt
information.

The implementation of area access policies depends on wireless locating. WSM locates concerned

users by locating the iNode clients used by concerned users, and controls concerned users' access to

the wireless network according to the area access policies.
To draw an access area and set access policies for the area:

1.

Click the Service tab.

2.

To enter the location view topology page, use one of the following procedures:

a.

From the navigation tree, select WLAN Manager > Wireless Topology.
The wireless device topology page appears.

b.

From the navigation tree, select Topology > Wireless Topology > Location View.
The page displaying all location views appears.

c.

Double-click the icon of the location view you want to configure access area or right-click
the icon and, from the shortcut menu, select Open Topology.
The location view topology page appears, displaying all sub-location views, fat APs, and fit
APs.

Or

a.

From the navigation tree, select WLAN Manager > View Management > Location Views.
The Location List page appears.

b.

Click the View Topology icon for the location view.
The location view topology page appears, displaying all sub-location views, fit APs, and fat
APs.

Right-click on a blank area, and, from the shortcut menu, select Area Policy Configuration.
The topology displays all access areas.

4.

Right-click on a blank area, and, from the shortcut menu, select Draw Area.
You are in area drawing mode.

5.

Click on the topology and drag the mouse to draw an access area, and double-click to finish
the drawing.

6.

On the toolbar, click the Pointer Tool icon to exit the area drawing mode.

7.

Right-click the edge of the area, and, from the shortcut menu, select Access Policy.
The Configure Access Policy dialog box appears.

8.

Configure the following parameters:

Area Name—Enter the name of the access area.

{

Admittance Type—Select the access control type of the area. Options are Prohibit and
Permit.

{

Measures when Violating Rules—Select a measure to deal with the violating actions.
Options are Inform, Warn, and Log off. When an iNode client enters an area that denies

access, UAM notifies the iNode client of the violating action or logs off the iNode client, or
