The location view topology page appears, displaying all sub-location views, fit APs and fat APs.

Right-click on a blank area, and, from the shortcut menu, select Sampling Points Mgt.
You are in client sampling mode.

5.

Right-click on a blank area, and, from the shortcut menu, select Moving Sampling.

6.

In the Select MAC dialog box that appears, select a MAC address. The MAC addresses of the
clients that are configured as the sampling clients are listed here.

7.

Click OK.
You are in moving sampling mode.

8.

Click to mark the actual location of the sampling client in the topology to specify the start point.

9.

Move the sampling client steadily to the destination, and click to mark the actual location in the
topology to specify the end point.

10.

Repeat steps 8 and 9 to sample more sampling routes.

11.

Double-click to quit moving sampling.

Managing MU locating regions

For accurate MU locating, WSM provides the following functions to manage MU locating regions:

Draw an MU locating region.

Draw an obstacle region.

Draw a digital fence.

Drawing an MU locating region

After you draw an MU locating region, MU locating locates clients in the region.
To draw an MU locating region:

1.

Click the Service tab.

2.

From the navigation tree, select WLAN Manager > View Management > Location Views.
The Location List page appears.

3.

Click the View Topology icon for the location view.
The location view topology page appears, displaying all sub-location views, fit APs and fat APs.

4.

Right-click on a blank area, and, from the shortcut menu, select MU Locating Region Mgt.
You are in MU locating region management mode.

5.

Right-click on a blank area, and, from the shortcut menu, select Draw MU Locating Region.

6.

Click each vertex one by one on the MU locating region, and double-click to finish. WSM
automatically marks locating points in light blue in the region at a certain distance. Make sure

the MU locating region contains valid locating points.

7.

Click icon to quit drawing mode.

Drawing an obstacle region

An AP cannot locate clients in an obstacle region.
To draw an obstacle region:

1.

Click the Service tab.

2.

From the navigation tree, select WLAN Manager > View Management > Location Views.
