Drag the gray block to the proper position in the topology according to actual iNode client
location.
7.
Repeat steps 5 and 6 to add more sampling points.
NOTE:
WSM automatically saves the sampling points that were previously added.
Saving a sampling point
1.
Click the Service tab.
2.
From the navigation tree, select WLAN Manager > View Management > Location Views.
The Location List page appears.
3.
Click the View Topology icon for the location view.
The location view topology page appears, displaying all sub-location views, fit APs and fat APs.
4.
Right-click on a blank area, and, from the shortcut menu, select Sampling Points Management >
Client Sampling.
You are in client sampling mode.
5.
Right-click on a blank area, and, from the shortcut menu, select Save Sampling Points.
Sampling
After finishing the previous configurations, you can perform the sampling to establish an RSSI
fingerprint database.
NOTE:
The sampling operation is not effective on the sampling points that are being sampled.
To perform the sampling:
1.
Click the Service tab.
2.
From the navigation tree, select WLAN Manager > View Management > Location Views.
The Location List page appears.
3.
Click the View Topology icon for the location view.
The location view topology page appears, displaying all sub-location views, fit APs and fat APs.
4.
Right-click on a blank area, and, from the shortcut menu, select Sampling Points Management >
Client Sampling.
You are in client sampling mode.
5.
Right-click on a gray block, and, from the shortcut menu, select Sample.
6.
From the dialog box, select a MAC address.
The MAC addresses of the iNode clients that are configured as the sampling clients are listed
here.
7.
Click OK.
It takes about 2 minutes to perform the sampling. The color of the block indicates the state of the
sampling point as follows:
•
—Not sampled.
•
—Being sampled.
