Module License Description
Wireless Service
Manager
Basic WSM license
You must register the license to use WSM. By default, the
basic WSM license includes 50 fit APs.
The number of fat APs and ACs that can be managed are
controlled by IMC platform node licenses.
Fit AP node license
This license allows you to increase the number of fit APs that
can be managed. For example, for a network with 230 fit
APs, you need to purchase a fit AP node license of 200 fit
APs, except the 50 APs in the basic WSM license.
If the number of fit APs exceeds the license limit, IMC
restricts your login. You have 3 chances to log in to IMC
and remain online for 30 minutes each time. You must log in
to IMC to delete fit APs to make sure the number of fit APs is
within the license limit.
Locating
Management
Basic locating
management license This license allows you to use the AP sampling-based
locating function and GIS locating function.
Real Time Location
System (RTLS) node
license
This license allows you to use the iNode sampling-based
locating function and increase the number of nodes for real-
time locating. For example, with an RTLS license of 100
nodes registered, you can use the iNode sampling locating
function to locate 100 iNode clients in real time
simultaneously.
WIPS Management WIPS node license
This license allows you to use the WIPS management
module and increase the number of sensors. For example,
with a WIPS node license of 50 sensors registered, you can
use all WIPS functions and manage at most 50 sensors.
Network Evaluation
Network evaluation
license This license allows you to use the network evaluation
module.
HP IMC licenses
HP IMC does not support the following features:
• WIPS Management
• Spectrum Guard
• Network Evaluation
So the registration of licenses specific to these modules is not supported.
To use WSM, you must purchase and activate the WSM license (HP A-IMC Wireless Service
Manager Software Module with 50-Access Point License). To use the locating management module,
you must also purchase and activate the module-specific license.
