After finishing the previous configurations, you can sample the configured sampling points to

establish an RSSI fingerprint database.

NOTE:

The sampling operation is not effective on the sampling points that are being sampled.

To perform the sampling:

a.

Click the Service tab.

b.

From the navigation tree, select WLAN Manager > View Management > Location Views.
The Location List page appears.

c.

Click the View Topology icon for the location view.
The location view topology page appears, displaying all sub-location views, fit APs, and fat

APs.

d.

Right-click on a blank area, and, from the shortcut menu, select Sampling Points Mgt.
You are in client sampling mode.

e.

Right-click on a gray dot, and, from the shortcut menu, select Sample.

f.

From the dialog box, select a MAC address.
The MAC addresses of the clients that are configured as the sampling clients are listed here.

g.

Click OK.
The color of the dot indicates the state of the sampling point as follows:

—Not sampled.

—Being sampled.

—Successfully sampled.

h.

Click the successfully sampled color dot .The sampling date and RSSI appear.

NOTE:

The locations of the sampling points that are being sampled or have been successfully sampled
are fixed. You cannot move them.

You can save the locations of the sampling points that are not sampled. For more information,
see "

Save a sampling point:

."

A sampling client can be sampled at one place at a time.

Delete a sampling point:
Sampling points that are being sampled cannot be deleted.
To delete a sampling point:

a.

Click the Service tab.

b.

From the navigation tree, select WLAN Manager > View Management > Location Views.
The Location List page appears.

c.

Click the View Topology icon for the location view.
The location view topology page appears, displaying all sub-location views, fit APs, and fat
APs.

d.

Right-click on a blank area, and, from the shortcut menu, select Sampling Points Mgt.
You are in AP sampling mode.
