Use the Routing Protocol > PIM6 > General page to enable IPv6 PIM
routing globally on the router.

This feature enables PIM-DM and PIM-SM for IPv6 globally on the
router. You also need to enable PIM-DM and PIM-SM for each interface
that will support multicast routing (see
), and make any
changes necessary to the multicast protocol parameters.

To use PIMv6, multicast routing must be enabled on the switch (see
"Enabling Multicast Routing Globally" on page 708
◆
To use multicast routing, MLD proxy cannot enabled on any interface of
the device (see
"MLD Proxy Routing" on page 1281
).

To enable PIMv6 multicast routing:
1.
Click Routing Protocol, PIM6, General.
2.
Enable PIM6 Routing Protocol.

Click Apply.
