system-max ecmp-pram-block-size dec

A new option is introduced to the system-max command to control the max PRAM block allocation
for ECMP routes. This setting affects the ECMP routes of type IPv4/IPv6/VPNv4/VPNv6. Using this
command requires a system restart in order for the new setting to take effect.

Syntax

system-max [ecmp-pram-block-size dec]

Parameters

ecmp-pram-block-size

The ecmp-pram-block-size option displays the maximum PRAM allocation for ECMP
(v4/v6/VPNv4/VPNv6) specified by the dec variable.

Modes

Sub-configuration mode (config).

Usage guidelines

Below are guidelines on the usage of this command.

1. The value set using system-max ecmp-pram-block-size command takes precedence and this is

used as a limiting factor when programing ECMP nexthops (v4/v6/VPNv4/VPNv6).

2. The default value of ecmp-pram-block-size is 32.

3. Even though the control plane (through the IP load-sharing command) supports up to 32

nexthops per a route, the actual number of nexthops which are programmed in hardware is
controlled by this command.

4. When you configure the system-max ecmp-pram-block-size command to a value lesser than

the value configured for IP load-sharing or IPv6 load-sharing, a warning message is displays
and the value is accepted.

5. Similarly, when you configure IP load-sharing or IPv6 load-sharing to a value greater than that

configured for system-max ecmp-pram-block-size command, a warning message is displays to
you and the value is accepted.

6. This command is not applicable for CER/CES devices.
