Item Description

TTL Weight

Time to live (TTL) weight in the dynamic best performing link algorithm

Bandwidth Weight

Bandwidth weight in the dynamic best performing link algorithm

Link Cost Weight

Link cost weight in the dynamic best performing link algorithm

Detection Interval

The interval at which best-performing link detection is performed.

Timeout

Timeout for each best-performing link detection operation

Inbound Type

For inbound link load balancing, allows you to obtain the detection type of the best
performing link parameters such as network delay and router hops, and configure the

detection parameters in health monitoring.

DNS: Detects the reachability of the remote address and obtains the best performing
link parameters through DNS packets.

ICMP: Detects the reachability of the remote address and obtains the best
performing link parameters through ICMP messages.

TCP Half Open: Detects the reachability of the remote address and obtains the best
performing link parameters through a TCP half open connection.

Hostname

Specifies the domain name to be resolved in DNS health monitoring if the inbound
detection type is DNS.
The default hostname is A.ROOT-SERVER.NET.

Host IP

Specifies the host IP if the inbound detection type is DNS.
A DNS health monitoring is considered successful only when the specified host IP
address is contained in the received DNS result packet if the host IP address is specified,

thus to enhance the precision of DNS health monitoring.

Outbound Type

For outbound link load balancing, allows you to obtain the detection type of the best
performing link parameters such as network delay and router hops, and configure the

detection parameters in health monitoring.

ICMP: Detects the reachability of the remote address and obtains the best
performing link parameters through ICMP messages.

TCP Half Open: Detects the reachability of the remote address and obtains the best
performing link parameters through a TCP half open connection.

Configuring a static best performing link entry

Select High Reliability > Load Balance > Link Load Balance > Best-Performing Link from
the navigation tree, and then click the Best Performing Link Table tab to enter the page as shown

in

Figure 30

. You can display all the dynamic and static best performing link entries in the best

performing link table. Click Add, and you can enter the page for creating a static best performing link
entry, as shown in

Figure 31
