• The DHCP server and clients are not on the same subnet and communicate with each other via a
DHCP relay agent.
The DHCP server configuration for the two types is the same.
Static IP Address Assignment Configuration Example
Network requirements
As shown in Figure 8 , the DHCP client (Router B) obtains a static IP address, DNS server address,
gateway address, and other related parameters from the DHCP server (Device A).

Configuration procedure
Step1 Specify IP addresses for interfaces and create security zones (omitted)
Step2 Configure the DHCP server
# Enable DHCP.
• Select Network > DHCP > DHCP Server from the navigation tree and perform the following
configuration, as shown in Figure 9 .
