Table 1 Stateful failover configuration items

Item Description

Enable Stateful Failover

Enable/disable the stateful failover feature.

Backup Type

Select whether to support asymmetric path.

Select Unsupport Asymmetric Path if sessions enter and leave the

internal network through one device.

Select Support Asymmetric Path if sessions may enter and leave the

internal network through different devices.

Backup Interface

Set failover interfaces and specify the working mode (electrical or optical
interface mode) for the currently effective failover interfaces.
Click Modify Backup Interface to enter the Backup Interface
Configuration
page, and then you can:

Select one or more interfaces from the Optional Backup Interface(s) list,
and then click the << button to add the selected interfaces to the Backup
Interface(s)
list.

Select one or more interfaces from the Backup Interface(s) list, and then
click the >> button to remove the selected interfaces from the list.

Modify the working mode of any failover interface in the list at the lower part.

All currently effective failover interfaces are displayed in the list. If no failover
interface is specified, the list is not displayed.

After completing the settings, click Apply to return to the stateful failover
configuration page.

IMPORTANT:

If you click Modify Backup Interface before clicking Apply, the configurations
you have made on the stateful failover configuration page will be lost.

Main Device for
Configuration

Synchronization

Specify the local device as the active device during configuration
synchronization.
If the check box is not selected, the local device serves as the standby device

during configuration synchronization.

Auto Synchronization

Select this check box to enable auto synchronization.

If you select the check box, the active device will synchronize all configurations
to the standby device at a time, and automatically synchronize configuration

updates to the standby device.

If you do not select the check box, you can only click Manual
Synchronization
to manually synchronize all configurations.

IMPORTANT:

You are recommended to enable auto synchronization.

Manual Synchronization

Click the Manual Synchronization button to synchronize all configurations
from the active device to the standby device.
If the current stateful failover state is synchronization, you can select the manual
synchronization method.
