On Device A, select VPN > GRE > P2MP from the navigation tree and then click the Tunnel List tab.
You can see information about the P2MP GRE tunnels established on Device A, as shown in

Perform the same operations on Device B and you can see that there is no P2MP GRE tunnel established
on Device B.

The above information indicates that there is a tunnel entry to reach the branch network, and packets to
the branch network are forwarded through Device A.
# Cut off the tunnel link between Device A and Device C.
•
On Device C, select Device Management > Interface from the navigation tree and then click
the icon of interface Tunnel 0.
•
Click the Disable button to shut down interface Tunnel 0.
# After the tunnel aging time (10 seconds in this example) elapses, refresh and view the tunnel entry
information on Device A. There should be no tunnel entry any more.
# Ping Host A from Host C. The ping operation succeeds. Refresh and view the P2MP GRE tunnel
information on Device B again. You can see that a P2MP GRE tunnel is established on Device B, as
shown in
.

The above information indicates that:

After the link between Device A and Device C went down, the tunnel entry aging timer started to
work, and after the timer expired, the tunnel entry on Device A was removed.

After Device C sent a packet to Device B, a tunnel entry to the branch network was generated on
Device B, and packets to the branch network were forwarded through Device B
