6. Adjust the settings as desired. The parameters are described below.
Port Priority
This parameter is used as a tie breaker when two or more ports are
determined to have equal costs to the root bridge. The default
value for priority is 128. The range is 0-15, with 0 having the
highest priority.
Port Cost
The spanning tree algorithm uses the cost parameter to decide
which port provides the lowest-cost path to the root bridge for a
particular LAN. Enter a value from 0 to 200,000,00. The default
values are:
❑ 0 for Auto-detect
❑ 4 for a 1 Gigabit port
❑ 10 for a 10 Mbps port
❑ 100 for a 100 Mbps port
7. After you have configured the parameters, click Apply.
8. To save your changes, return to the General Tab and click Save
Changes. The changes you made are saved on the switch.
