The following example configures Switch S1 to specify MD5 as the
authentication mode and “axc222” as the password:
S1> enable
S1# configure terminal
S1(config)# interface vlan50
S1(config-if)# ip rip authentication mode md5

The following example configures Switch S2 to specify MD5 as the
authentication mode and “axc222” as the password:
