Appendix G - External Controls
GPI tab
Use the GPI tab to map commands from a GPI control system to Xstudio commands.
To map commands from a GPI external control system to Xstudio commands:
1.
From the T OOLS menu select E XTERNAL C ONTROL . This displays the E XTERNAL
C ONTROL M APPING M ANAGER dialog box.
2. On the GPI tab, find the desired number in the C OMMANDS column and then click in the
F UNCTIONS row to display a drop-down list of Xstudio commands.
3. Select the Xstudio command that you would like triggered when your external control
command is performed.

Most functions do not require any parameters. The exceptions are:
• R
UN S CRIPT - Prompts you to select from the list of user-defined scripts.
• S END E VENT T O P ANEL - Prompts you to select an event from a drop-down list
that will be sent to the panel. If you opt for User Defined Event, a dialog box
will display. Use it to enter the name of the event.
4. Click the OK button.
5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 until all external control commands have been mapped to
equivalent Xstudio commands, then click the C
LOSE button.
