Appendix B - Gallery Browser
To open an asset for editing using the Gallery:
1.
In the Gallery Browser, double-click the desired asset.
The asset opens in its appropriate window in the center of the Xstudio interface.
2.
Edit as required using Xstudio’s commands, toolbars, and browsers.
For example, you can drag and drop another asset onto the scene, reposition a text
box or change the font size or style, add a new segment to a playlist, create a new
control element, along with a number of other operations that affect the content,
appearance, or functioning of the asset.
To edit an asset for which a third-party application is required:
1.
In the Gallery Browser, right-click on the name of the asset to be edited.
A context menu appears.
2.
Select S

from the context menu.
The S
AVE
L
OCAL
C
OPY
dialog box appears, which allows you to navigate to the
directory location where the asset will be exported to.
3.
Either select the default export folder, create a new folder in the default location, or
navigate to another location.
4.
Click the S
AVE
button.
The asset has been exported to the selected folder.
5.
Open and edit the asset in the appropriate third-party application. Be sure to save all
of the desired changes.
6.
Ingest the asset into Xstudio using the same name as the version you are replacing.
This will overwrite the old one. For instructions on ingesting, see

The Gallery Browser’s D
ELETE
command allows you can delete assets completely from the
system, regardless of whether the asset is linked to other categories.
To delete an asset:
1.
In the Gallery Browser, right-click on the asset that is to be deleted.
A context menu appears.
2.
Select D
ELETE
from the context menu.
The C
ONFIRM
D
ELETE
dialog box appears and asks you to confirm that you want to
remove the specified asset.
3.
Click Y
ES
to remove the asset, or click N
O
to cancel the operation.
