Linking objects to a data source
Creating a snapshot or ticker for social media content
Once a social media data source has been defined, you can create a ticker or snapshot
based on the data source. Typically, tickers are used for message streams and snapshots
are used for polls.
To create a snapshot associated to a social media data source:
1.
Open the Data Manager.
2.
Select the schema that contains the social media data source.
3.
Click C

field, enter a name for the snapshot or ticker.

If you are creating a ticker, complete the following properties in the T

section:

): The number of seconds you would like to elapse before
displaying the next data item in the I

field.

: The number of data rows that are available for display in the Items field.

NCREMENT
: The number of rows you would like to increment. The number of
items must always be equal to or less than the increment number to avoid
data items being skipped.
• B
URST
: The number of data items you would like initially sent from Data
Server to the output device. If no Burst is required, leave the value set to 0.

: Check the check box to refresh ticker data only after
it has gone through the entire table.

: Check the check box to have the ticker start running as
soon as its host control panel or page is activated.

: Check the check box to have the ticker start at the beginning of the

drop-down list, select a social media data source.
Additional fields automatically appear which allow you to identify the specific message
stream or poll. These fields vary according to the Provider and Type defined in the
selected data source.
