Spredfast and Telescope polls data tables columns
Both Spredfast and Telescope polls provide the same set of columns, which are defined in
the following table:
ChoiceName
The readable title of the choice entered in the poll definition, as opposed to hashtags or
keywords used to identify votes.
Example: Germany
Votes
The number of votes cast for the choice.
Example: 352
Percent
The percent of the total number of votes cast for the choice. The percent value for a choice
is calculated by dividing the number of votes for the choice by the total number of votes and
then rounding the result. This number is rounded as indicated by the P
ERCENT
DECIMAL
places property in the ticker or snapshot definition. If there are no votes cast at all in the
entire poll, the percent is set to 0.
Example: 62
UniqueRank
This column contains a ranking of the choices from highest number of votes to lowest
number of votes without any ties. When multiple rows have the same number of votes they
are ordered in ascending alphabetical order by choice name. Every choice is guaranteed
to have a unique rank that is in the range from 1 to the number of choices. This value can
be used to order the choices when it is desired to display them in ranked order.
Example: 2
Rank
This column contains a ranking of the choices from highest number of votes to lowest
number of votes. Unlike the U
NIQUE
R
ANK
column, multiple choices can have the same rank
if there is a tie. This value can be used to indicate which choices ranked 1st or 2nd, with
the possibility of indicating ties. Note that if, for example, there are two choice tied for 2nd
place, the next choice will be in 4th place rather than 3rd place.
Example: 1
TieCount
this value is used in association with the R
ANK
to indicate the number of choices tied with
the same rank. When there is no tie for a given rank the tie count is 1, a two-way tie has a
tie count of 2 etc.
