About external controls
You can control Xstudio using one of the two following external control systems:
•
Serial - Commands received on the serial port are mapped to Xstudio commands.
Available functions include: menu items, standard actions, user-defined actions.
•
III - Allows you to specify a numeric range of commands. All numbers outside that
range will be interpreted by Xstudio as being associated with pages.
•
GPI - Similar to external control on serial port, but specifically allows you to link discreet
GPI input signals to Xstudio actions.
Once you have set up your external controls on either the Serial or GPI tab, use the Settings
tab to configure your external control device to function with Xstudio.
