Animating scene objects

To preview a scene animation on an output device:
1.

Check that the output device is connected to Xstudio by verifying that the device’s
green light is illuminated in the upper right corner of the Xstudio interface.

2.

Switch Xstudio to Preview mode by holding down the Control (CTRL) key while clicking
the P

UBLISH

icon. The Publish icon’s heading turns red and now reads “Preview”. The

scene’s Default In animation should begin to playout automatically on the output device.

3.

To play any of the animations on the output device, select the animation’s name in the
Animation Tree and then click the P

LAY

button

located above the Animation Tree,

or right-click on the animation’s name and select the P

REVIEW

command from the

context menu.

4.

You can stop the playout of an animated scene at any time by clicking the S

TOP

button

located above the Animation Tree.

To scrub an animation using the Animation Editor’s Timeline slider:
1.

Select the animation’s name in the Animation Tree.

2.

Drag the Timeline’s slider along the Timeline’s ruler and release it on the
frame/instance where you want to see the state of the animated scene object.
The scene’s canvas updates the scene objects to represent the object property
settings at that point in the animation playout.

OTE

Objects that have an Opacity setting of zero (0.0) are identified on the scene by a colored
placeholder box.
