Animating scene objects
Editing existing animations
Building a scene animation can be iterative process, in that you may have to edit the
animation’s settings and preview that animation’s playout several times before attaining the
desired look and behavior. The following sections provide instructions for performing
common editing tasks that are required after the initial animated scene has been created
and saved.

Renaming animations
While the Default In/Out and Page In/Out animations cannot be renamed, you can
personalize the names of the manual animations that are added to the Animation Tree.
When they are added, manual animations are given a generic name (i.e. Animation3). You
can either rename the animation immediately when it is added, or you can access the
R
ENAME
command later by right-clicking on the animation’s name and choosing R
ENAME
from the context menu (see
“Animation Tree’s Context menu” on page 7-14
).

OTE
The Default In/Out and Page In/Out animations cannot be renamed. Similarly, object,
property, and command channels cannot be renamed. However, keyer channels can be
renamed using the R
ENAME
command in the Animation Tree’s context menu.
Deleting channels from the Animation Tree
While the contents of the Default In/Out and Page In/Out animations can be deleted, the
animations themselves cannot be deleted from the Animation Editor. Manual animations,
however, can be deleted from the Animation Editor by selecting the animation in the
Animation Tree and then selecting the D
ELETE
command from the Animation Tree’s context
menu, or by clicking the D
ELETE
key on your keyboard.
Similarly, any object, property, keyer, or command channel listed in the Animation Tree can
be deleted, by selecting the channel in the Animation Tree or on the Timeline and then
selecting the D
ELETE
command from the context menu, or by clicking the D
ELETE
key on
your keyboard.

To immediately restore the deleted a channel that was mistakenly deleted, select the
E
DIT
>U
NDO
command from the Xstudio menu, or press C
TRL
+ Z on your keyboard.
