Adding logic to control objects
Set Ancillary Source Priority
The S ET A NCILLARY S OURCE P RIORITY action allows you to dynamically control what
ancillary data is written to the output of the Vertigo XG or Intuition XG.
Set the following Action Parameters:

Controlling what ancillary data is written to the output of the Vertigo XG or Intuition XG can
also be accomplished using two new device commands: SetVancSourcePriority and
SetCDPSourcePriority
. These commands are identical, except that one targets VANC
sources and the other targets CDP sources. Two parameters are required: source and
priority
. The possible values for the source parameter are: CLIP , INPUT A, INPUT B and
NONE . The priority parameter must be a positive integer.
Type The types of ancillary data that can be controlled are VANC and CDP. VANC
represents the all available lines of the vertical ancillary data space. CDP
represent caption data packets, which will be written on a specific line of the
vertical ancillary data space.
Source Ancillary data can be associated with three inputs: C LIP , I NPUT A, and
I NPUT B.
Priority The highest priority ancillary data, if it exists, will be written to the output. If
the Ancillary Source Priority is not set by the user, the Vertigo XG and
Intuition XG defaults to the following ancillary priority assignments:

Clip => Priority 3
• Input A => Priority 2
• Input B => Priority 1
Therefore, the clip’s ancillary data would be written to the output first. If clip
ancillary data does not exist, then Input A’s ancillary data will be written to
the output. If Input A’s ancillary data does not exist, then Input B’s ancillary
data will be written to the output.
When the Ancillary Source Priority is set by the user the P RIORITY field
defaults to 0, but it can be set to values between 0 and 100. A P RIORITY value
of 0 means do not include ancillary data in the output, while the rest of the
values are relative to the other sources.
