The
button, beside the value entry field, provides an additional way of entering
the keyframe's value. Clicking it sets the keyframe value to the current value of the
object's property. For example, to set the X coordinate of an object you could move
it to the desired spot, select the X keyframe and then click
. The value field will
populate with the X value.
Interpolation
The I
NTERPOLATION
field allows you to choose the type of interpolation that will be
used to compute the values between the selected keyframe and the next keyframe.
The possible values are:
•
C
ONSTANT
- The value remains constant between the selected keyframe and
the next keyframe.
•
L
INEAR
- The value is interpolated linearly between the selected keyframe and
the next keyframe.
•
H
ERMITE
- The value is interpolated, using a hermite curve, between the
selected keyframe and the next keyframe. The K
EY
F
RAME
T
ANGENT
P
ROPERTIES
settings offer a simple set of options to control the speed of the
interpolation in non-linear mode through presets, but they do not provide full
control of the Hermite curves.
The interpolation between two keyframes is set by the right of the first keyframe
and left of the second keyframe. The speed of the interpolation on either side of
the keyframe is represented by left and right Key Frame Tangent properties.
Since the HERMITE option determines the movement between two keyframes,
the LEFT parameter is disabled when the first keyframe is selected. Similarly,
the RIGHT parameter is disabled for the last keyframe.
Note that for some properties such as I
MAGE
N
AME
or T
EXT
, interpolation between
keyframes does not make sense, and the interpolation drop box is disabled.
