Creating simple clocks and timers using Text2D scene elements
Simple clocks and timers can be created by using a Text2D scene object to represent time.
The following types of clocks and timers are possible:
•
Clock: Displays the current system time in 12 or 24 hour time format. Optionally, you
can display AM/PM and/or assign a relative offset to the displayed time.
•
Count up timer: Counts time up, like a stopwatch.
•
Count down timer: Counts time down, like a microwave.
•
Count down to target time: Counts time down by displaying the time remaining from
the current time until the specified target time.

When using the Text2D object for a clock or timer, the Text2D object cannot contain any other
text. In other words, the Text2D object must be completely dedicated to displaying time.
To create a clock or timer:
1.
Add a Text2D object to the template’s scene.
2.
Select the Text2D object and open the Properties Browser.
The properties for Text2D object features a T
IME
property category, which enables text
elements to represent time.
3.
Select from the T
YPE
property’s drop-down list the type of time element to be displayed.
