Adding logic to control objects
Crawl Command
Adding this action to an event allows you to control the playout of a specific crawl. A crawl
makes text and/or graphics “crawl” across the screen from right to left. See
objects on the scene canvas” on page 6-20
for more information.
Set the following Action Parameters:
Type
This parameter determines what type of operation will be executed on the
crawl.
Select one of the following from the drop-down list:
• Start: Starts the crawl when the event condition is executed.
• Stop: Stops the crawl when the event condition is executed.
• Clear: Clears the crawl when the event condition is executed.
• Reset: Resets the crawl when the event condition is executed.
Target
This parameter sets the name of the crawl being controlled. Note that before
you can set this parameter, the crawl must already have been added to the
scene (see
“Crawl and Roll objects on the scene canvas” on page 6-20
for
more information).
To set this parameter:
1.
Select the parameter’s field and click the button to
open the Target/Source Selector.

Select the S

category in the left panel of the
E
XPRESSION
B
UILDER
. A list of the scene’s objects now
appears in the right panel of the Expression Builder.
3.
Double-click the desired crawl object’s name in the
right panel. The crawl object is added to the upper text
box prefixed by “Scene:”.

Click OK and the T
ARGET
parameter is set.
