Working with control objects

Dropbox objects on the control canvas

Adding a Dropbox primitive

to the control-side canvas creates a drop-down list which

can be populated with multiple selections. Dropboxes are often used to provide operators
with a quick and limited list of options that affect what displays or happens on the scene side
(e.g. a list of show titles).

When associated with the O

U

PDATE

event, a change to the dropbox’s selection can trigger

an action that might affect the scene’s content or playout behavior. See

“On Update” on

page 10-7

for more information.

To populate the dropbox object:
1.

Drag the Dropbox primitive onto the control-side canvas.

2.

Double-click on the dropbox object and the object expands to display an empty list.

3.

Type the text for the first item in the list and then press Enter.
(For a blank selection press the spacebar and then Enter.)

4.

Repeat for the remaining items in the list.

5.

To preview the behavior of the dropbox, switch to Production mode and click the arrow
on the dropbox.

When a Dropbox object is selected on the canvas, the Properties Browser displays the
