Saving, publishing and exporting Xstudio projects
Automatically publishing assets to devices in Xstudio
You can set up Xstudio so that when you ingest, import, or save an asset to a category in
the Xmedia Server, the asset is automatically published to preselected devices.

OTE
Enabling autopublish does not trigger a publish. To force a publish, you must manually
publish using the P
UBLISH
T
O
command.
To set up Xstudio for automatic publishing assets to devices:
1.
Optional - Prior to ingesting, importing, or saving the asset, verify that the devices are
available in Xstudio’s Device Configurator (Tools>Devices>Configure Devices). If not,
see
“Connecting Xstudio to an output device” on page 2-12
add or activate devices. If they are, close the Device Configurator and continue.
2.
In Xstudio’s Asset Browser, select the asset category that matches the asset type of
the asset to be published.
3.
Expand the category and navigate to the sub-category where the asset(s) will be
ingested, imported, or saved to.
4.
Right-click on the sub-category and select the P
ROPERTIES
command from the context
menu. The C
ATEGORY
P
ROPERTIES
dialog box appears.
5.
Enable the check boxes next to the devices that you want to publish the asset to when
it is received by the Xmedia Server.
6.
Click OK.
From this point on, every time an asset is added to this asset sub-category, the asset
will be automatically published to the selected devices.

OTE
You can set auto-publishing at the category and root category levels. As a result, any asset
that is added to any of the sub-categories with the parent category will published to the
selected devices.
To deactivate the automatic publishing of
a category
:
1.
Right-click on the category and select the R
EMOVE
F
ROM
D
EVICES
command.
The P
UBLISH
R
EMOVE
window appears and lists the assets that are being deleted from
the device. Once finished close the Publish Remove window.
2.
Right-click on the category once again and select the P
ROPERTIES
command from the
context menu. The C
ATEGORY
P
ROPERTIES
dialog box appears.
3.
Disable the check boxes next to the devices that you no longer want to automatically
publish to.
4.
Click OK.
