Adding and preparing objects on the Xstudio canvas
Cutting, copying and pasting objects to/from the canvas
You can move, duplicate, and/or replace objects on the canvas by using the
CUT
and
COPY
commands to place an object on the system’s clipboard and then place the object on
another canvas using the P
ASTE
command. When you use the C
UT
or C
OPY
commands, the
cut or copied object remains on the clipboard until you choose C
UT
or C
OPY
again.

OTE
Objects cannot be copied/cut from the control side and pasted to the scene side, or vice versa.
To cut, copy and paste objects:
1.
Select the object by clicking on it once.
2.
Select one of the following from the Xstudio interface’s E
DIT
menu:
• The C
UT
command (CTRL + X) to remove the object and save a copy to the clipboard.
Or,
• The C
OPY
command (CTRL + C) to keep the original object where it is and save a
copy to the clipboard.
To paste a copy of the object, select the P
ASTE
(CTRL + V) command from the E
DIT
menu.
To move a copy of the object out from the original:
• Hold down the CTRL key while moving the copy out from the original. If you
release the CTRL key before the mouse button, the object will not be copied
-- only moved.
To move a copy of the object out from the original at right angles only:
• Hold down the CTRL and SHIFT keys while moving the copy out from the
original. If you release the CTRL key before the mouse button, the object will
not be copied -- only moved.
