Animating scene objects
Opacity
The O
PACITY
animated property allows you to set the opacity level of an object. Setting this
property at two keyframes in an animation produces animation effects like, fading objects
into the background, or drawing attention to an object by fading it from translucent to
opaque (figure
). The Opacity property can be set to a value within the range of 0.0 to
1.0, where 0.0 indicates full transparency and 1.0 indicates full opacity.
To fade object in an animation:
1.
Add the O
PACITY
property channels to the object animation.
2.
A default keyframe will already be present, so add an additional keyframe to the
O
PACITY
property channels.
3.
To fade an object from opaque to transparent, you must set the first keyframe to a
larger opacity value than that in the second keyframe. For example, the object
transitions from solid to transparent when the first keyframe is set to 1.0 and the second
keyframe is set to 0.0.
Similarly, to fade an object from transparent/translucent to opaque, you must set the
first keyframe to a smaller opacity value than the second keyframe.
