Playing out a scene using Xstudio’s Production mode
Playing out a standalone scene
Once you have finished authoring a standalone Scene in Design mode, you can switch to
Production mode to view the scene’s elements in the Production mode window and preview
its playout on an actual playout device.
When you load the scene into Production mode, the scene is automatically loaded in
Xstudio’s Production mode window and the scene is displayed on the device (figure
12-3 ).

Since Production mode is a true playout of the scene, you will immediately see the scene’s
playout including its currently programmed transitions, animations, and content. After viewing
enough of the scene’s playout, select the T
ASKS >C LEAR D EVICE menu command or press
C TRL +F4 to execute the scene’s exit and clear the device.
The following instructions guide you through the exact procedure for playing out a
standalone Scene in Xstudio’s Production mode.
1.
Ensure that the standalone scene is open and currently selected in Xstudio’s Design mode.
2. Ensure that Xstudio is actively connected to the playout device (see page 2-12 ).
3. Save and publish the current scene to the active output device (see page 11-2 and page 11-3 ).
4. Switch Xstudio to Production Mode by double-clicking the D ESIGN M ODE BUTTON
or selecting the V IEW >P RODUCTION M ODE (CTRL+P).
Watch the scene’s entry transition, its content and animations.
5. After viewing enough of the scene’s playout, select theT ASKS >C LEAR D EVICE menu
command or press C TRL +F4 to execute the scene’s exit and clear the device.
