While Xplay is the Vertigo Suite’s full featured playout application, you can use Xstudio’s
Production mode to preview the playout of a project’s scene on the device that is actively
connected to Xstudio.
Unlike the Xstudio’s Preview mode, which provides a static preview of the scene’s “look”
(see
), Production mode previews the scene’s actual playout. Therefore, you can
preview the scene’s transitions, scene animations, and content. If the scene is associated
with a template, you can use the template’s editable fields to edit the scene’s content (e.g.
change text in text boxes and/or make new selections from drop-down lists) and then
preview the new content. If the scene is associated with a panel, you can operate a control
panel to determine the scene’s content and playout behavior.
The following sections describe how to preview the playout of the various project types
using Xstudio’s Production mode:
•
“Playing out a scene associated with a template or page” on page 12-2
•
“Playing out a scene controlled by a control panel” on page 12-3
•
“Playing out a standalone scene” on page 12-4
