Linking objects to a data source
Creating and applying lookup tables
A lookup table is a way of defining replacement values for incoming data. For example, say
you have a live data source feeding in sports information. City names are provided in full by
the data source, but you want it to display an abbreviation. You would set up a lookup table
that looks something like this:

An asterisk in the title of the lookup table indicates that unsaved changes have been made.

column contains the items that require substitution, whereas the V
ALUE
column
contains the replacements.

shows how one text string can be replaced by another. However, you can also
use these tables to replace text strings with asset names, e.g. images. Assets are added to
the lookup table by dragging them into the value column from the asset browser. They are
displayed in bold to distinguish them from text.
