Animating scene objects

Adding the object’s animated properties to your animation

At this stage, you will start building your scene animation by choosing from the Scene Tree
the objects and their animated properties that you want to animate and then copying them
into your animation in the Animation Editor (figure

7-13

).

To add an object’s animated property to an animation:
1.

In Scene Tree, click the + sign preceding the object’s name to display the animatable
properties for the object that you want to animate on your scene. For a description of
the animated properties available to each type of object, see

“Animated property

descriptions” on page 7-40

.

2.

In the Scene Tree, select the property to be animated and drag it onto your animation
in the Animation Editor’s Animation Tree (i.e Default In, Default Out, Page In, Page Out
or Animation#).
The object and its property is added to the animation tree and an animation, object, and
property channel are added to the Editor’s Timeline area. Each property that is added
will have one keyframe (white circle) automatically added to its property channel on the
Timeline.

3.

Optional: Add more objects and properties to the animation.
• If you want to add additional animated properties to that same object in the

animation, repeat step 2 above.

• If you want to add another object and its properties to the animation, then

repeat steps 1 and 2 above.
