1.1.3 Measuring system monitoring
HEIDENHAIN contouring controls can monitor the signal transmissions of the measuring system.
This measuring system monitoring must be activated by a machine parameter.
Three different conditions can be checked:
Error message
The absolute position of distance-coded reference marks
C
The amplitude of the measuring system signals
A
The edge separation of the measuring system signals
B
If one of the conditions is not fulfilled, the error message "Measuring system
A/B/C" will appear.
For sinusoidal signals the LE monitors the amplitude of the measuring system signals, for square-
wave signals the LE evaluates the fault detection signal (U
aS
) of the external electronics (EXE).
