Empty composite
3 Right-click the empty box, and then click Unlock on the menu.
Notice that the handles around the box boundary line become orange.

4 Add a monitor to the composite, either using a button on the toolbar or dragging an
element from a widget library. For example, click the Video monitor button
on the
toolbar, and then click inside the composite to add a video monitor.

5 Click the Audio monitor button
on the toolbar, and then click inside the composite
to add an audio level meter.
Note:
If you double-click a composite monitor, the handles also become
orange. However, in such a case, you cannot move or resize individual
components within the composite (see

Only primary monitors (not composite) can be part of a composite.
