Passenger Sensing System

If your rearview mimor has one of the irdicatars pjctured
in the foltowing illustrationsH your vehicfg has a
paasengar sensing system. The indicator will t>e visible
when you turn your ignition hey hj FtUN or START.

The words OM and OFF or the synntiol for on and off.

check. When the system check is complete, either

The passenger sensing system wiH turn gtt the right
front passenger's frooial air bag under certain
conditions. The driver's air bag and the side air bags
are not part oi the pessanger sensing system. In
addition to the passenger sensing system, your vehicle
afso has an air bag off switch tocated on the Instrument
panel as required by the government.

The passenger sensing syEtam works with sensors that
are pari of the right iront passenger's seat ard safety
beit. The sensors are designed to detect the presence oi
a properly seated occupant and determine if the
passonger^s frontei air bag shouJd be enabled (may
inflate) or nol.
