TRANSMISSION HOT
If the transmission fluid lempefalure becomes Ngh^ ihe
cfinf^r will display I his messago-
When the iransmiesion enters the prolection mode, you
may notice a change in the transmission shifting
patterns. When the irar^smlsaion ilkjid tempeTature
returns to normal, the display witi turn off and fha
Iransmrssion shilting patterns will return to normal.
Notice:
It you keep driving your vehicle with the
Tr^nsmissior> TRAMS FLUID HOT message
dJaplayed. you can demage the transmission. This
could lead to costly repairs that may not be covered
under your warranty.
The loflowing situations can cause Ihe transmission to
operate al higher temperatures:
* Towing a trailer
■ Hof outside air lemporaiures
■ Hauling a large or heavy load
“ Low transmission fluid level
* High transmission fluid level
* Restricted air Flow to Ihe radiator and Ihe auKiliary
iransmission oil cooler.
A temporary sotution to hotter transmission operating
Ifimperalures may he (o let the transmission cooldown. IT

If (he transmission fluid in the vehicle gets hot, this
message will appear an tha DIC, and you will hear a
chime. The chime will slop when the traosmissiori fluid
temperature is less that 2в5''Р (129^0), Driving with
the transmission iluid ternperature high car) cause
damage to the vehicle. Stop the vehicle and I at it idle to
allow ths transmission to cool. This message will
claat when the fluid temperature reaches в safe level.
