A CAUTION:

If the air bag readiness light in Die ilnstrumenl
panel cluster ever comes on when you have

turned cff the air bag, it rmans that something

may be wrong with the elr bag system. The
right front passenger's air bag couEd inflate

even though the switch is oft. If this ever

happens, have the vehicle serviced promptly.
Until you have the vehicle serviced, don't let

anyone whom the national gouernrnent has

identified as a member of a passenger air bag
risk group sit in the right front passenger's
position (for example, don't secure a
rear-facing child restraint in your vehicle).

the instrucdons say,

1. Your vehicle has a right front passenger's fronlal air

bag. II your vehicle is a regular cah or extended
cab and you are using a rear-facing chiid restraint in
this sear, make sure the air bag is off. See

If your child resfrainl is

forward-facing, move the seat as far back as it will
go beforg securing a forward-fating child resiraint.

Put the restraint on the seat.

3. Pick up the lalch piale, and run Ihe lap and shoulder

portions of the vehicle's salety belt though or
around the restraint. The child restraint inslructions
will show you how.
