Adding a Snow Plow or Similar

Befor& installing □ snow plow on your vehicle, here are
some things yob'll neea to кпо^лг;
Notice: if your vehicle doesn't have the snow plow
prep package, adding a plow can damage your
vehicle, and the repairs wouldn't be covered
by v/erranty. Unless your vehicle was built to carry
a snow plow, don't add one to your vehicle. If
your vehicle has the snow plow option called FPO
VVU (snow plow prep package), then the payload
your vehicle can carry will be reduced when a anow
plow is installed. Vour vehicle can be damaged if
either the front or rear axle ratings, or the GVW, are
exceeded.
Q* Haw do I know if rny vehicle can handle a
snow plow?
A; Some vehicles are htiili wilh a special package,
called ftp О VYU {snow plow prep package). If
your vehicle has this oplion, you can add a plow to
ll„ provided certain weights, such as the weights
on ihe vehicle's axles and the GVW. aren't
Exceeded.
Qi How heavy can a srkow plow safely be?

things, such as:
% The options yaur vehicle came with, and the weight
of those opliona,
* Ttie weight and number ot passengers you intend
to cany,
\ The weight of ilems you’ve added to your vehicle,
like Э tpal box or truck cap,
% The total weight o( any additional cargo you Intend
to carry.
Say, tor exariipie, you have a 700 lb,. (31В kg) snow plow.
The lofal weight at all occupants and cargo inside ihe cab
should not exceed 3t№ lb. (135 kg). This means that you
may only be able tn carry one passenger. But, evgn this
may bo toD much if you've got olher equipment already
adding Eo Ihe weight of your vehicle.
