Increasing Speed While Using Cruise
Control
There are iwe iways to go lo a higher speed'
• Use Ihe acceloiator pedal to ge( to the higher
speed r Press the set button at the end oí Ehe le\/erf
then release the button and the accelerator
petfai. Vou'll now cruise at the higher speed.
• Move the cruise switch from on to
resume/accelerate. Hold it [here until you get up to
the speed you want, and then release the switch,
to increase your speed tn very small announts,
move the switch to resume/accelerate bnelly. Each
time you do this, your vehicle wHI go about
1 mph ( 1.6 iim/h) faster.
Reducing Speed While Using Cruise
Control
• Press and hold the sel bullón al The end or the
lever until you reach the lower speed you want, then
nelaase it.
• To slow down in very small amounts, press the sel
button briefly. Each time you do this, you'll go
about
1 mph ( 1,6 km/h) slower.
Passing Another Vehicle While Using
Cruise Control
Use !he accelerator pedal to Intiease your £f>eed.
When you take your foot off the pedal, your vehicle will
slow down
10 the cmise control speed you set earlier.
Using Cruise Control on Hills
How well your cruise control will wodi on hills depends
upon your speed, load and the steepness of the
hills. When going up steep hills, you may want to step
on the accelerator pedal lo maintain your speed.
Whon going downhill, you may have to brake or shiFI to
a lower gear lo keep your Speed down. 0( course,
applying ihe brpke lakes you out O'f
cnji&B control. Many
drivers find this to be too much trouble and don't use
cruise conrral on sleep hills.
Ending Cruise Controi
There are two ways to tum off the cruise oonlntjl:
• Stop hghtly on the brake pedal.
• Step lightly on the clutch pedal (if equippod).
• Move Ihe cruise conTnol switch to off.
Erasing Speed Memory
When you turn oH the cruise control or the rgnlticm, your
cruise control set speed nnemory is erased.
