If the air bag ON indFcalor comes on when you
have a rear-facing child resiraini installed in
the right ironl passenger's seat, it means that
the passenger sensing system has not turned
oft the passenger's frontal air bag. A child in a
rear-tacing child restraint can be seriously
injurad Or killed if the right fror>t passenger s
air bag Fntiates. This is because the back of
the rear-facing child restraint would be very
close to the inflating air bag. Don't use a
rear-facing child restraint in the right front
passenger's seat unless the air bag is offn
To remove ihe child restraint, jusi unbuckle the vehicle's
safety beii and let it go back all the way. The safety
belt will move freely again and be ready lo work for an
aduU or larger chiid passenger*
If you were using a rear-tacing child restrainl in a
regular cab pickup or extended cab pickup. ar>d had
turned me air hag off with (he switch, ismember to be
sure to use the air bag off switch to turn on the right
front passengers air bag when you remove the
roar-facing child restrainl from the vehicle unless the
person

A CAUTION:
If the right front passen^r’s air bag is lurned
off for a person who Isn't In a risk group
Identified by ihe national governmenl* that
person won't have the oxlra protection of an
air bag. In a Cfashi, the air bag wouldn't f>e able
to inflate and help protect the person sitting
there. Don't turn Off the passenger's air bag
unless the persorr sitting there is in a risk
